Who is Yvonne Litjens?
After completing her studies of Dutch Law in Maastricht (1990) and being awarded a Certificate in International Law in Leiden (1992), Yvonne Litjens started her career in the legal profession with CMS Derks Star Busmann in 1993.
She worked initially as an all-round lawyer, but soon developed a clear preference for business and employment law. After completing a course in employment law at Grotius Academy (2000), her focus switched to supporting employers and company directors in procedures involving (collective) redundancy, collective labour agreements, employee co-determination and transfers of undertaking. While she continued to work in this area when she joined BG.legal in mid-2008, she now also provides advice in employment disputes, work disability and disputes relating to non-competition clauses. As the emphasis in her daily work lies on advising and litigating on behalf of employers, she also likes to regularly support employees when they are confronted by issues of this type. Yvonne is a committed legal professional. She aims to use her wealth of knowledge and experience in employment law to achieve an optimum outcome. Furthermore, she likes to get involved in disputes at an early stage as she is convinced that this approach generally reduces costs. Preventing problems is her primary objective. Once a dispute has arisen, she works efficiently and with respect for the positions of both sides in order to find a solution which serves her client’s best interests.
