Who is Magdaleen Jooste?

Magdaleen joined BG.legal in December 2023. She is a qualified South African Patent Attorney and admitted paralegal of the High Court of South Africa, holding both an industrial design degree and a law degree.

She specializes in IP law, in particular, in patent law. Before joining BG.legal she worked in private practice as a patent attorney for a couple of years, including at a Dutch patent law firm. Her experience includes, inter alia, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, drafting of novelty and freedom-to-operate opinions, commercialization of IP rights as well as litigation in respect of various IP rights.

Apart from working at BG.legal, Magdaleen enjoys hosting friends and family over a meal. When not cooking, she might be looking for a hidden gem by bicycle or by running.
