Cookies

BG.legal also processes information through the use of cookies and similar tools on the Website to improve its performance and user experience.

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a website or page. The cookie helps the website recognize your device on your next visit. Web beacons or other similar files can do the same. We use the term 'cookies' in this statement to refer to all files that process information in this way.

Cookies serve various functions. They can help remember your preferences or analyze how well the website functions. The cookies used on the Website do not collect information regarding your personal identity but process more general information, such as how visitors arrive at and use the Website, or the general location of a user. BG.legal uses the following cookies on the Website:

  • Essential cookies, which are necessary for the operation of the Website.
  • Performance cookies, to monitor the functioning and analyze how visitors use the Website. This allows BG.legal to optimize how you experience the Website and quickly identify and resolve any issues. For example, BG.legal might use performance cookies to track which pages are most popular, which method of linking between pages is most effective, and to determine why certain pages receive error messages. BG.legal uses Google Analytics for these analytical activities. The obtained information, including your computer's IP address, is sent to and stored by Google on servers in various countries, including the United States. Google uses this information to analyze the use of the Website and report this to BG.legal. Google may disclose this information to third parties when required to do so by law or when third parties process the information on behalf of Google. BG.legal has no control over this.
  • Social media buttons. The Website contains buttons to promote or share pages on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These buttons are based on code provided by these social networks. This code also places a cookie. We advise you to regularly check the privacy statements of the relevant social networks for more information on their use of your personal data when processing this code.

Use of personal data

We only use your personal data to respond to your information requests or to improve our services to you. We analyze the information that is processed indirectly to determine what is most effective about the Website, so BG.legal can identify how to improve the Website, and ultimately to determine how we can adjust the Website to make it more effective. We may also use data for other purposes. We will describe these purposes for you at the time we collect the information.
