Your tool for compliance with the European AI Act

The European AI Act, in effect since August 1, 2024, imposes strict requirements on the development and deployment of AI systems. BG.legal supports organizations in complying with this regulation through a practical and legally grounded AI Act Compliance Check.

This check helps you determine whether your AI application falls under the AI Act, what your obligations are, and how you can comply with the law. Sometimes, the good news is that an AI application has no or only limited obligations.

What does the compliance check entail?

The check consists of two phases:

Phase 1: Context analysis

  • Is there an AI system according to the AI Act?
  • In which risk category does the system fall (low, limited, high, or prohibited)?
  • What role does your organization play in the AI value chain (developer, distributor, user)?
  • What are your obligations based on that role?

Phase 2: Legal assessment

  • Does the AI system meet the legal requirements for the corresponding risk class?
  • Are there exceptions or relaxations applicable to your situation?

What will you receive?

At the end of the check, you will receive clear, legally grounded advice:

  • Certificate of Compliance for full compliance;
  • Roadmap for Compliance in case of identified shortcomings, with concrete recommendations to become compliant.

Current and reliable

Our check is based on the final text of the AI Act and is continuously updated based on guidelines from European and national regulators and scientific insights.

Multidisciplinary team

Each process is guided by a team that, when necessary, is supplemented with specialists such as data ethicists, data engineers, cybersecurity experts, or compliance consultants. This collaboration takes place within the LegalAIR network.
