Daan Schalken is a lawyer and partner at BG.legal in 's-Hertogenbosch and specializes in corporate law and insolvency law.

Daan studied Dutch law at Maastricht University and completed part of his studies at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

Since starting as a lawyer in 1998 at BG.legal, Daan has expanded his expertise under the guidance of experienced mentors. His approach is characterized by a keen eye for both legal and practical solutions and a clear preference for strategic consultation, without shying away from litigation when necessary. 

He has extensive experience in assisting companies in financial difficulties, advising directors on complex issues, and acting as a trustee in bankruptcies. He regularly serves as a sparring partner ('trusted advisor') for the management of medium and large enterprises.

Daan is involved in various insolvency cases, both as an advisor to directors, financiers, and/or other stakeholders, as well as a trustee. Daan has been appointed by courts as a trustee in various large and media-sensitive bankruptcies, including those of HDMG, Edgar Vos, Addy van den Krommenacker BV, De Harense Smid, Lathouwers Autogroep, Chromeburner Motogear, and Holland Herstel Groep.

Daan excels in finding creative and goal-oriented solutions. He is known for his strategic insight and his ability to quickly understand complex situations.
