Bites & Rights - Housing pushed past it's limits?

Bites & Rights - Real Estate Seminar
“Labor migration puts pressure on the housing market” and “Expats are increasingly buying homes and outbidding Dutch buyers.” Just a selection from the many recent news items about flexible housing arrangements. The need for suitable housing is a fact. But how that housing should be arranged is the question. And therein lies an important role for housing providers, developers, companies, and municipalities.
Often the Environmental Act does not permit alternative forms of living. Moreover, the regulations are fragmented. What possibilities are there for housing labor migrants or expats? Room rental and splitting is an increasingly heard voice, especially during housing shortages. And what should a developer or landlord consider regarding such forms of living? Does the Environmental Act bring new insights in that regard?
Additionally, much has changed within rental law, and tax regulations play an important role in the investment decision. In our seminar, we will discuss the possibilities of room rental and flexible housing, from the environmental, rental, and tax law perspectives, specifically VAT related to short stays and the applicable do’s and don’ts. We will showcase the possibilities and limitations using concrete practical examples. From a single-family home to room rental and splitting, and from office to multifunctional residential complex.
Together with Robert van Esch from Crowe Foederer, Accountancy & Advisory, our lawyers Kim Albert, Rutger Boogers, and Michael de Marco will provide you with legal and fiscal advice!
